Enthused over the success, Payal Rohatgi joined the world of modeling and appeared with popular brands like Nescafe, JaguarBath Panel, LG Refrigerator, Brittania Biscuit, Wright Pen, Gifts Food Mix, Nirma and Amul. Payal shared screen with cricketer Virendra Shewag for Dabur’s Lal Dantamanjan and Amitabh Bachchan for Eveready Battery. The television ad for Cadbury Temptation has made her a lead model.
Payal Rohatgi also appeared in several music videos including one by the famous rock band Silk Route and Indipop artiste Kay Kay. Her first Bollywood movie was Yeh Kya Ho Raha Rai in 2002, but she was hardly noticed as an actress in the film. She was rather picked up for small appearances with skimpy dresses, sometimes as an item girl, sometimes as a call girl, in some small budget movies like Paath (2003), Plan (2004) and Tauba Tauba (2005). The movies, however, were short-lived earning her no glory.
In Tauba Tauba, Payal popped many eyes by her dare bare skin flick role. She flaunted her physical assets to the limit and Payal was begun counted among the sex bombs in the Bollywood. Her first A-grade movie was 36 China Town with Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor lising on the cast roll. She played a negative role in the film with the director Subhas Ghai utilizing her sensual appeal to the full. In the famous Corporate in 2006, she again appeared as an item cum call girl.
In the upcoming film Dhol, directed by Priyadarshan, Payal is playing the second lead role with Arbaaz Khan. This could be a turning point in her film career as a serious actress as here she is more than a well-toned body.
